Radionuclides
Radiochemistry laboratory has over 40 years of experience in development and application of various radiochemical separation methods and measurements of various natural and man-made radionuclides in different sample matrices, as well as in development and application of k0 instrumental neutron activation analysis (k0-INAA) and radiochemical neutron activation analysis (RNAA).
As a research oriented laboratory it strives in constant improvements of the methodologies and offers state-of-the-art analytical services with four methods accredited according to ISO 17025. Quality of the results is assured by regular participation in intercomparison exercises. We offer following analyses:
- 14C in alkaline solution with radiochemical separation and measurement by liquid scintillation counting – accredited in-house method SDN-O2-STC(03).
- Gross alpha – in non-saline water with measurements on gas-flow low-background proportional counter according to ISO 9696 method.
- Gross beta – in non-saline water with measurements on gas-flow low-background proportional counter according to ISO 9697 method.
- 3H in water and urine by direct method or in water by electrolytic enrichment and measurement by liquid scintillation counting – accredited in-house method SDN-O2-STC(02).
- 210Pb in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements on gas-flow low-background proportional counter – in-house method.
- 210Pb in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements by alpha spectrometry – in-house method.
- 226Ra in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements by alpha spectrometry – in-house method.
- 228Ra in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements on gas-flow low-background proportional counter – in-house method.
- 89/90Sr, 90Sr, 89Sr in Samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements on gas-flow low-background proportional counter – accredited in house method SDN-O2-STC(01).
- 230Th, 232Th in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements by alpha spectrometry – in-house method.
- 238U in water with radiochemical neutron activation analysis and measurements by gamma spectrometry – in-house method.
- 234U, 238U in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements by alpha spectrometry – in-house method.
- 237Np in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements by alpha spectrometry – in-house method.
- 238Pu, 239+240Pu in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements by alpha spectrometry – in-house method.
- 241Am in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements by alpha spectrometry – in-house method.
- 222Rn in indoor air (homes and workplaces): (i) instantaneous concentration (grab air sampling) with a scintillation cells, (ii) average concentration with solid state nuclear track detectors and (iii) continuous measurements with electronic devices (AlphaGuard, Radon Scout).
- 222Rn in outdoor air (i) average concentration with solid state nuclear track detectors and (ii) continuous measurements with electronic device (AlphaGuard).
- 220Rn progeny (218Po, 214Pb, 213Bi/214Po) with continuous measurements with electronic device (EQF-3020).
- 222Rn in soil gas: instantaneous concentration with (i) a scintillation cells and (ii) electronic device(RTM-1688).
- 220Rn in indoor and outdoor air (RTM-1688).
- 222Rn in water with (i) a scintillation cells and (ii) electronic device (RTM-1688).
- 222Rn exhalation with electronic device (RTM-1688).
- Dose estimates, preliminary consulting on remediation measures in buildings of high radon levels.
