Radionuclides

Radiochemistry laboratory has over 40 years of experience in development and application of various radiochemical separation methods and measurements of various natural and man-made radionuclides in different sample matrices, as well as in development and application of k0 instrumental neutron activation analysis (k0-INAA) and radiochemical neutron activation analysis (RNAA).

As a research oriented laboratory it strives in constant improvements of the methodologies and offers state-of-the-art analytical services with four methods accredited according to ISO 17025. Quality of the results is assured by regular participation in intercomparison exercises. We offer following analyses:

  • 14C in alkaline solution with radiochemical separation and measurement by liquid scintillation counting – accredited in-house method SDN-O2-STC(03).
  • Gross alpha – in non-saline water with measurements on gas-flow low-background proportional counter according to ISO 9696 method.
  • Gross beta – in non-saline water with measurements on gas-flow low-background proportional counter according to ISO 9697 method.
  • 3H in water and urine by direct method or in water by electrolytic enrichment and measurement by liquid scintillation counting – accredited in-house method SDN-O2-STC(02).
  • 210Pb in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements on gas-flow low-background proportional counter – in-house method.
  • 210Pb in samples from the environment, foodstuffs and feedstuff with radiochemical separation and measurements by alpha spectrometry – in-house method.
