Organic analysis
We offer development and validation of analytical methods including sample preparation based on gas and liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry for determination of organic pollutants (persistent organic pollutants and compounds, including pharmaceutical and personal care residues, industrial chemicals, endocrine disruptive compounds etc.) in different matrices.
- aqueous matrices,
- biological matrices (urine, plasma, tissue),
- soil/sediment,
- foodstuffs,
- food contact materials.
We further offer development of analytical methods for non-target analysis in different matrices and application of developed methods on real samples.

The Centre for mass spectrometry (CMS) at Jožef Stefan Institute offers support to research and application projects, development and implementation of knowledge in the field of mass spectrometry. The activities of CMS are orientated into identification quantification and characterization of synthesized organic compounds, drugs and other active substances, proteins, metal complexes, pollutants, food additives, forensic and geochemical samples, new materials in the ceramics, electronic industry, etc. We offer analysis with electrospray, hybrid, tandem mass spectrometer Q-TOF at high mass resolution for determination of elemental composition at selected ions, identification of organic compounds, liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and liquid chromatography - tandem mass spectrometry LC-MS/MS analysis for quantification and structure characterization of chemical compounds in mixtures in different matrixes.
