Kick-off of a new project.

»Science shop« is most established mode of community-based participatory research that aims to perform productive, mutually beneficial collaborations between community organisations and research institutions. The initial idea behind science shops was to provide a specific location at the university where citizens and community groups could link directly with researchers to help solve community-related problems. Regardless of the process, the results of all science shops activities are openly shared with community members, and made available for future community use.

The Department of Environmental Sciences at the Jožef Stefan Institute is in the process of establishinh first science shop in Slovenia.
