7th International k0-Users' Workshop, Montreal, 3-8 September, 2017 / 11.10.2017

Prof. dr. Borut Smodiš, dr. Radojko Jaćimović, and Lojze Gačnik attended the 7th International k0-Users' workshop, where the newest developments in k0 neutron activation analysis (k0-NAA) and related fields were presented.

The purpose of the workshop was to share knowledge, techniques, and experiences, relating to activation analysis, and present upcoming research work.

Radojko Jaćimović chaired the nuclear data session and gave the oral presentation Losses of Cr Content in Plant Samples using Digestion Procedures with Acids. Borut Smodiš gave part of the opening and closing remarks, and the oral presentation Thirty Years of k0-NAA at JSI, Ljubljana – Implementation, Progress, Achievements. For the oral presentation Effect of Control Rod Insertion on the TRIGA Neutron Spectrum and the Determination of Elemental Concentrations with k0-INAA, Lojze Gačnik received the best student presentation prize.

The meeting of the International Scientific Committe of k0 Users was also held at the workshop, and finally visits to the SLOWPOKE NAA and Thermal Hydraulics laboratories at the Polytechnique Montreal were done, showing, among other things, their automatic system for sample irradiation and measurement.
